    Custom Northern Michigan NM

    Northern Michigan (NM) 32' sloop hull #5 "Rookie". It is difficult to understand why this beautiful and capable keelboat of 32 feet overall has remained unknown to all the yachting world except for a small bay on Lake Michigan's west shore. Here is a chance to own a piece of history and to own a boat that is iconic to Harbor Springs. Only 26 of these delightful sloops have been produced. The yacht was never intended as a national one-design, though it could easily be. The NM is a lean, easily driven hull with fairly firm bilges. In the chop and moderate breeze the NM comes into its own, excelling notably to weather. The NM has fine forward sections that fair into a cut away keel, she has a long rudder attached to the trailing edge. She draws five feet with 313 sq. ft. sail area and carries a spinnaker. The design is fairly stiff with 40% ballast (external) to displacement. The Harbor Springs NM fleet is active with weekly races throughout the summer.     Chris-Craft Dory

    This 1978 Chris-Craft Sport Fisherman Dory was recently restored with new Awlgrip hull sides and repowered with a Mercruiser 260 HP inboard engine. The engine was replaced with a long block with new manifolds and new valve covers during the winter of 2022/2023. The new block carries a one-year warranty. She is refreshed and ready to be enjoyed by her next owner. She offers a fine platform for fishing, entertaining, cruising or watersports.     Vineyard Vixen 29

    This 1978 Vineyard Vixen (#27) was purchased by current owner in 2006 and brought to Lake Charlevoix, Michigan at that time.  She was then optimized for short handed sailing with the addition of the Hoyt Jib Boom System and new sails.  Everything can be handled from the cockpit, with no need to go on deck while sailing!  She was repowered with a  Yanmar diesel in 1997. Opus is now out of the water and in storage for the winter season.
