This 1978 Bombay Clipper "Legato" has been loved and meticulously cared for by the original owner for 45 years. It was purchased by the second owner in the spring of 2024 and due to some life-changes, the boat is back on the market and available again. Always fresh water and lightly used for the short Northern Michigan summers. She has been winter stored indoors and professionally maintained her whole life. With many upgrades and add-ons over the years, this boat is ready to splash, cruise and enjoy! The Bombay Clipper was designed by Walt Scott who had sailed all over the Eastern seaboard from Maine to the Bahamas. He is quoted as saying, "it really turned out well. I am delighted with the boats performance. The builders are using first-rate hardware throughout. As a matter of fact, they are equipping the boat with rigging that is even heavier than what I specified. To me, that says a lot about their interest in the customer's safety and dedication to building an honest product." It's rare to find a boat of this age in the excellent condition she is in.

This 1988 Pearson 28 "Commotion" is a fresh water vessel ready for her next big adventure. The Pearson 28 was the third generation of boats this size, and represents what was the very latest thinking in design, engineering, and owner preferences. A quick glance at her 24' 4 1/2" waterline length and 9' 10" beam dimensions indicate just how spacious she is. Truly, an extremely accommodating 28 footer. The challenge was to use this space to maximum advantage and this is where their design group carved out new territory. For example, there are two real double berths - one forward and another enclosed stateroom aft to port - they provide desirable privacy while the enclosed head is located further aft using a wider part of the boat to its best advantage.
The galley is located amidships with stove, sink, and stowage to port, and with a large ice box covered by an equally large chart table/counter to starboard. For a smaller boat, this is a superior arrangement as it maximizes galley work space and ice box volume. The 28's sailing qualities are superb. Of particular note is her ability to stand up to a breeze due mainly to the form stability produced by her wide beam at the waterline. Pearson set out to design a performance cruiser/racer and from all appearances, they succeeded. To summarize, the 28 is what people came to expect from Pearson. She is uniquely different and was just right for the requirements of sailors at the time. Namely, quality, excellent sailing characteristics, sea-kindly motion, spaciousness, and privacy.

This 1984 Freedom 29 was graciously donated to Lake Charlevoix Mariners 501 (c) (3). The proceeds of the sale will support their Sail Charlevoix youth sailing program. This vessel was designed to be sailed by one person (with plenty of room for guests) including all spinnaker functions. It is equipped for light cruising: berths for 6: 2 in the enclosed cabin forward "V-berths", 2 in the main salon on
settees, 2 in the enclosed aft cabin; galley is to port with the stove opposite; head is aft to starboard; dinette table is to
center (over the motor box) with drop leaves. Note also the following feature - 6'2" headroom; full teak interior with teak and holly sole, and a cockpit dodger with attaching Bimini. It features a carbon fiber free-standing spar, fully battened mainsail, Bierig Camber Spar self tending jib, "Hoyt Gun Mount" spinnaker handling system, tiller steering, and auto pilot.
