This 2013 Catalina 315 has moved the brand to a higher level of performance, finish, and engineering accomplishments. When introduced the Catalina 315 was the newest in the 5 Series taking a new tack in the global sailing marketplace with all the style and refinement of the larger Catalina 5 Series boats. The Catalina 315 has the core attributes that made the 445 and 355 award-winning yachts. Features not found in many of the world's yachts come standard with the Catalina 5 Series. Like her predecessors, the 315 has a bold emphasis on strength; a five-part structural construction insures a ruggedly built boat that withstands the test of time; a watertight StrikeZone collision bulkhead forward; a DeepDefense rudder system for failsafe steering, and the T-Beam MastStep system, with the perks of a deck-stepped mast and the strength of a keel-stepped mast. Catalina's philosophy is straightforward: Design boats that stand up to real world conditions and sail well. They must be comfortable above and below, easy to maintain and hold their value. This is a fresh water only, properly maintained, well equipped, one-owner boat that was purchased in 2014 and didn't set sail until 2015.
This 1985 Vindo 34 has combined the strength and longevity of a fiberglass hull, cockpit and partial deck with the beauty of a magnificently crafted varnished mahogany house and teak housetops and teak decks, to create one of the prettiest yachts in the world today. Vindo started building yachts in 1928 on the island of Orust on the west coast of Sweden, an island where boats have been built since the 11th century. Since 1928 there have been close to three thousand Vindos built of all shapes and sizes. The quality of boat building that went on in this yard would be very hard to find anywhere at any price. The forefoot on the long keel has been cut back to reduce the wetted surface and to increase her ability to maneuver in close quarters. The rudder is fuller for quicker response, the entry is moderate and the buttocks rather full for good power. The waterline is long with modest over-hang, and the shear is gentle with a little spring. On the deck the Vindo stands out, not just because of the beauty of the house but also because of the spaciousness and comfort of the cockpit. The cockpit coamings are high for comfort and security, and are well rounded in the aft corners for the helmsman to snuggle into. The footwells are narrow enough to brace yourself with your feet on any angle of heel. The side decks are of modest width but certainly sufficient and safe, with 3" bulwarks with teak caprails to keep your feet on deck. This amazing 34 footer which, in spite of its graceful lines, has a little private cabin aft, a V-berth forward, a spacious head, a truly regal-sized dinette with another settee across the way, and a chart table of dimensions seldom found even on larger boats. The U-shaped galley is located to starboard as you come down through the elegant companionway. It features a stainless steel sink, dry storage bin, 2-burner gimballed stove with oven, ice box, and ample storage. The woodwork throughout the boat is like fine furniture. Between the craftsmanship, fit and finish, and blue-water performance, it's easy to see why this boat is listed as one of The World's Best Sailboats. "Sarsen" is a one-owner, fresh water boat that has spent her entire life on Lake Michigan. Primarily used for day boating and light cruising. She has always been winter stored indoors and professionally maintained.
This 2002 Alerion Express 28 "Frolic" is a classic above the waterline and a speedster below the waterline. Sailboats are by nature graceful, and many claim to please your eye. But the Alerion Express 28 has consistently been recognized as one of the prettiest boats on the water. She has a thoroughly modern underwater shape which adds to her lustre. A maximized cockpit and cabin makes the Alerion Express 28 the perfect cruising yacht for you and your spouse for weekend adventures or just a spur of the moment evening or after work sail. By preserving the traditional look topside-where it shows, and giving the hull a modern design below the waterline, the Alerion Express 28 offers the best of both worlds; great style and great performance along with the pride and admiration they bring. A very manageable sail plan with a self tacking jib boom is easily single-handed. And even the most die-hard racers speak of how beautifully balanced and delightful to sail the Alerion Express 28 is. This daysailer is by far the most popular of all the modern day sailors. With her inception in the mid 90's the AE28 was also the first model to start this trend. Currently, there are active one design fleets for the AE28 throughout the country. The fleets range in size from 6 to 25 boats. With basic "main and jib only" rules there is no shortage of excitement and great sailing. AE28 sailing is simple, fun and allows you to sail on your own terms...
Under her second owner, this 1988 Freedom 36/38 can go where you like, when you like, and you can do it in a hurry. Control lines run along the deck neatly back to the cockpit for convenience. Because the 3638 is such a stable platform, heeling is minimized and she points high into the wind to let the big main drive the boat. Upwind, the Freedom 36/38 slices effortlessly through the water. Downwind, the vast potential of the rig is unleashed and the boat becomes a powerhouse. If you can appreciate a yacht that maximizes all the elements of hull and rig to create power, ease and greater safety to boot, take a closer look at this Freedom 36/38. This is truly a performance cruiser with abundant accommodations for a large family. Surveyed in 2016, "Goin Places" was found to be an above average, well-constructed, and comfortable vessel!
